Scarborough Arts is a not-for-profit arts organization that aims to “bring artists to the community and community to the arts.” I’ve created assignments for them on mental health workshops, juried exhibitions, graphic design templates and ongoing merch.
Cooking Up
Feminism
This client-based project was created for Mariam Magsi’s cookbook, Cooking Up Feminism, an intersectional journey between food and feminism. Filled with intergenerational recipes created from the hands of empowered mothers, aunties, grannies and youth alike, Cooking Up Feminism takes readers on a culinary journey through the flavours and spices of migratory cuisines.
The cover was inspired by the ingredients of the colourful pages inside the book: turmeric, red chillies, graham masala, wheat, lassi, fragrant curries and chai, amongst other spices.

All That Is Golden
This project, is by far, one of my favourite illustrations I’ve created for Scarborough Arts. As part of the City of Toronto’s Cultural Hotspot 2022 programming, All That Is Golden is a dedication to the Golden Mile community in Scarborough. It highlights the diversity within the multicultural foods, arts, and reliable resources catered for the well-being of locals through four wonderful businesses in the Golden Mile area!

The 37th Annual Juried Exhibition, Chrysalis
Every year, Scarborough Arts produces its Annual Juried Exhibition, a showcase of visual and media art created and curated in response to a themed call. Chrysalis introduced the notion of resilience in challenging creators to think “what happens in these moments of change? How do we navigate the in-betweenness of transformation?”
The Tote Bag
This 12” x 14” tote bag was designed for Scarborough Arts’ Marketplace, an online shop that sells fun books and merchandise. The design was inspired by nostalgic elements like the RT line 3 (if you know, you know ;), the symbolism of foods, local fauna and the overall artistry surrounding Scarborough. This limited edition tote bag can be purchased here along with other goodies. The colourized version was recycled for the back cover of the Annual Report 2021-2022.
